WINDSWEPT telly queen Lorraine Kelly poses on an island’s beach runway yesterday after backing a fight to save its lifeline plane service.
The Scottish Sun columnist, 53, spent a week holidaying on Barra — where Western Isles Council have voted to cut flights from nearby Benbecula in a bid to save cash.
While there she signed a petition asking the Scottish Parliament to intervene and get the route reinstated. After posting the pic of her on its famous sandy runway about to catch the plane home yesterday, she tweeted: “The most beautiful airport in the world.”
Lorraine, who was on the island researching a book about Scotland’s loveliest places, added: “So sad to be leaving Barra. If you want a break in one of THE most beautiful, friendly, relaxing, stunning parts of the UK — head for Barra!”
